Width is measured from side seam to side seam.
Height is measured from the top of the bag to the bottom of the bag
Strap length is measured from one end of the strap to the other – the centre hanging point being half the overall measurement.
Fabrics used are predominately linen.
We aim to be accurate in our description but cannot guarantee that every Tote is made from 100% linen as our finds are rarely labelled. Occasionally a Tote may be made from a linen/cotton mix, where we know this to be the case, it will be stated in the description.
Our core values are environmental awareness and sustainability by reducing waste, re-imagining, reusing and re-purposing so you can be sure that the material used will be a natural fibre which has had a former existence in one shape or another.
We will state where the design is on one side only, but generally, all Totes are the same on both sides.
Linings are predominately plain or damask, but generally of one colour.
However variations such as decorative inside facings and double pockets are incorporated where the fabric allows.
Your tote bag is highly individual and variations will occur from bag to bag including strap width and length.
All measurements are approximate and rounded off to nearest centimetre
Yes, but no hotter than 40 degrees. If your Tote is badly stained, we recommend soaking it in a stain remover first, then washing it in a gentle wash. Some Totes are made of unwashed linen and some are interlined for strength, therefore if washed any hotter than 40 degrees, the interlining or unwashed linen will shrink. Whilst this will not affect the performance of your Tote, it will look a little rumpled and make ironing it more difficult.
Unwashed linens will soften over time the more they are washed, but this does not weaken the Tote bag at all as weight bearing seams are double stitched including the lining.
If you want to get that “new look” back into your tote, use a spray starch when ironing or put some powder starch in the final rinse.
We do not recommend it. Leaving it to dry naturally is better for the environment and will avoid accidental shrinking and makes ironing easier.
It is a matter of preference but we do recommend ironing it after a wash to regain its shape, but otherwise it is not necessary.
If ironing, use a hot steam iron while still damp. If the linen is very dry, spray with water to dampen it.
We will shortly advise of stockists.
